Hawks lose to Appleton North

The Shawano Community High School boys basketball team lost a nonconference game against Appleton North 51-44 Tuesday in Appleton. The Hawks outscored North 19-13 in the final period, but the rally fell short. Jack Lacy led Shawano (8-4, 7-0 Bay) with 10 points. Zack Sousek and Dylan Frechette each had seven points. Sousek also had six assists. Austin Nelson and Mike Lukashewich each had 13 points to lead Appleton North (6-7, 4-6 Fox Valley Association). The Hawks will try to defend their perfect Bay Conference record in a big game at home against West De Pere (9-2, 5-1 Bay) Thursday.
