Irene B. Baker

Irene B. (Buss) Baker, 80, of Milwaukee, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 1, 2014. She was born on Aug. 4, 1933, in Shawano County, the daughter of the late Alexander and Helen (Kleckner) Buss. Irene graduated from Gresham High School, Class of 1951. On Jan. 20, 1962, she married her husband of 52 years, Edward Baker. Irene enjoyed traveling with Eddie, playing cards and games, and reading books. She loved and cherished her family very much. Spending time with her family was her greatest enjoyment. She will be remembered as a gentle, caring and loving soul with a smile that brought instant joy to the people around her. She is survived by her husband, Edward; son, Harold; daughter, Debra (Stephen) Banks; grandson, Timothy Banks; great-grandson, Channing Banks; brother, Kenneth (Phylis) Buss; sisters, Elizabeth Buss, Ella (Carl) Matz, Rosemary (David) Warden and Barbara (Ronald) Cecchi; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Helen (Kleckner) Buss; brothers, Robert (Cheyene) Buss and Henry Buss; sisters, Helen (Ray) Krueger and Dorothy (Jim) Klitzka; and several nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 7626 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hospice and the Fire Department Rescue Squad.
