Russell Paul Krueger

Russell Paul Krueger, 62, was called home to rejoice in the kingdom of Heaven with his parents, Rudy and Anne Krueger, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014. Born on Oct. 8, 1951, in Shawano, no one knew the positive impact he would share with his family, friends and colleagues. Married on Oct. 11, 1975, to his life-long friend and high school sweetheart, Kathy Laehn, they set a wonderful example through their 38 years of marriage. As a resident of Marietta, Ga., for the past 24 years, he was heavily involved with church, Habitat for Humanity and baseball. In his professional life, while working for the same company for 38 years, he was a mentor, teacher and friend to all he encountered. Whether it was singing in the church choir or performing the national anthem at a Braves game, he made everyone smile through his voice. He is survived by the love of his life, Kathy Krueger; children, Melissa, Rusty, Jessica, Elizabeth; and his granddaughter and “Sweet Pea,” Sydney. He is also survived by his three amazing sisters, Rudi Heinz, Rachel Pankow and Rhonda Jenkins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or The American Heart Association. A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 2922 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta, Ga., on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. A memorial service is being planned in the Shawano area on Monday, May 26.
