There are four Oconto County Board seats without a ballot candidate and two contested races in the April 7 general election, according to Kim Pytleski, Oconto County clerk.
Incumbent Jolene Barkhaus is not seeking another term to represent District 9. Joseph M. Prior, of Oconto Falls, and Carl Blank, of Abrams, will compete for the seat.
In District 29, David Van Zealand resigned in October 2025. Facing off will be Cody E. Schaal and Brenda Carey-Mielke, both of Mountain.
District 2 will have new representation as Dale Mohr, of Sobieski, is the only candidate as Theresa L. Willems is stepping away. Bill Hugo, of Sobieski, is the only candidate in District 3, where incumbent Brandon Dhuey declined to run again.
There are no candidates in Districts 1, 5, 12 and 20.
Declining to seek another term are incumbents Elmer Ragen, District 1; Guy Gooding, District 5; Richard Pillsbury, District 12; and Keith Schneider, District 20.
All other incumbents will run opposed for another term.
