The spring 2026 election is underway.
Elections will be held for town, village, city, county and school board positions.
If a primary election is needed, it will be held Feb. 17, with the general election scheduled for April 7.
The first day for candidates to circulate nomination papers was Dec. 1. The deadline to file those papers, declarations of candidacy and campaign registration statements is 5 p.m. Jan. 6.
The deadline for incumbents not seeking reelection to file notifications of non-candidacy is 5 p.m. Dec. 26.
All candidates should contact their school district or municipal clerk for details.
In Oconto County, all 31 county supervisory districts are on the ballot. Each is a two-year term, with incumbents’ terms set to expire April 20.
The position of mayor and select alderpersons in Gillett, Oconto and Oconto Falls are on the ballot.
In the Town of Brazeau, two supervisors will be elected. In the Town of Little Suamico, voters will elect two supervisors, as well as one Sanitary District No. 1 commissioner for a six-year term.
Voters will be deciding who wins trustee positions in the villages of Lena and Suring.
School board members will be chosen in Gillett, Oconto, Oconto Falls, Pulaski and Suring.
The only statewide election on the ballot will be for Wisconsin Supreme Court for a 10-year term. Rebecca G. Bradley is the incumbent, and her current term will expire July 31, 2026. She will not seek a second term.
Candidates for this office have until Jan. 1 to file their paperwork.
