As warmer weather approaches, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding the public that wild animals and their young will be on the move across Wisconsin.
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood FFA paired with the Shawano County Farm Bureau to host an event that featured 21 businesses directly connected to the agriculture industry.
A total of 290 students from Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School and surrounding school districts attended the April 9 event.
Children in three age groups scampered across the lawn and playground at Kuckuk Park in Shawano on April 11 for the city parks and recreation department’s annual Easter egg hunt. The hunt, which featured nearly 6,000 plastic eggs and prizes, was postponed from April 4 due to weather conditions.
• Preston T. Harris Cook, 32, New London, had his probation revoked March 13 from a 2025 conviction for misdemeanor charges of battery and disorderly conduct. Judge Katherine Sloma sentenced him April 8 to a year in county jail, time deemed served.
• Tammy Marie Dumas, 58, Seymour, was charged April 6 with three counts of felony bail jumping. Sloma set a $15,000 cash bond and scheduled a preliminary hearing for April 10.
• Brooke Marie Krause, 45, Oconto Falls, was charged April 6 with three counts of felony bail jumping and a misdemeanor count of operating while revoked. Court Commissioner Jacob Evans set a $750 cash bond and adjourned her initial appearance until April 16.
