Mildred (Millie) Buboltz entered heaven May 28, 2019, after a brief illness and stay at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay.
Born March 4, 1924, to William and Hedwig Richter of Lessor, Millie lived her life as a devoted Christian. After graduating from Bonduel High School, Millie spent time working in Green Bay, Milwaukee and Chicago before moving back to Bonduel. In 1947, she met Arnold Buboltz, and they married on Aug. 14, 1948. They spent more than 50 years together until his death in 1999.
Millie was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel, where she had served on Mission Circle and the altar guild and regularly attended Bible study. Prior to her retirement in 1989, Millie was a medical assistant at Bonduel Clinic where she always had a friendly smile for patients and their families. Before working at the clinic, Millie had also worked at Bonduel Bank, Equity Livestock and Wagner Insurance. After retirement, Millie enjoyed bus trips with Arnie and vacations and visits with her family. Millie’s hobbies included reading, playing cards and watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. She was such a fan of the Brewers that she was nicknamed Baseball Millie by residents and staff at Woodside Assisted Living, where she has lived for the past few years.
In addition to her faith, Millie found great joy and pride in her family. She was blessed to see all of her grandchildren married and raising their own families, and she loved to show off her great-grandchildren. She’ll be remembered for her soothing back scratches, rides on the walker and the games she played with the kids. Millie was also incredibly close with her sister, Leila Dirks; they were two peas in a pod.
Millie is survived by her daughters, Leanne (Rod) Hansen, of De Pere, and Barbara (Steve) Zeige, of Green Bay; her grandchildren, Jed (Amy) Hansen, of Slinger, Sara (Richard) DuQuaine, of De Pere, Jana (Neil) Broehm, of Green Bay, and Christopher (Holly) Zeige, of Franklin. She is further survived by her much-loved great-grandchildren, Blake Hansen, Brody and Brooks DuQuaine, and Pacer and Cooper Broehm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Buboltz; her parents, William and Hedwig Richter; her in-laws, Clarence and Hilda Buboltz; and her brother-in-law, Oscar Dirks.
Her final days were spent with her family by her side, just as she wanted. She will be waiting for us all in heaven with her beautiful smile and warm hug.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial were held in the church cemetery.
