Man, 34, found dead in Wolf River

A search for a missing person has turned into a death investigation, according to a news release from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.

On Oct. 28, the Shawano Police Department took a report of Nathaniel J. Robinson, 34, as a missing person. Officers from the department began their investigation that evening, which continued into the following day.

During the course of the initial investigation, an area near Sturgeon Park along the Wolf River became an area of interest. A search of that area was conducted using a drone and an airboat.

According to the news release, at about 3:30 p.m. Oct. 29, Robinson’s body was located in the Wolf River.

Following the discovery, a death investigation was initiated. Authorities from the police and the sheriff’s departments processed the scene and began gathering additional information.

At this time, the investigation is being conducted jointly between the two departments, with the sheriff’s department taking the lead.

No further information will be released at this time, and officials will not comment further on the case, according to the release.
