The No. 5 seed Tigerton dispatched No. 12 seed Wolf River Lutheran 3-0 at home in the opening round of WIAA Division 5 volleyball action Oct. 21.
The Tigers won with set scores of 25-11, 25-3 and 25-17.
Leading Tigerton were Presley Stewart-Rolfs with 13 kills, followed by Mya Smith with five, Aaliyah Lederhaus and Lillian Welch with four each, and Danika Tiller with three.
Tiller tallied 17 assists, and Lederhaus contributed five.
Jaelyn Brady had five digs, and Stewart-Rolfs had a pair of block kills.
Lederhaus tallied 20 service points with eight aces. Renata Nordwig had 14 and five, respectively, while Stewart-Rolfs scored eight service points with four aces, and Brady had seven service points with three aces.
Tigerton will travel to Cambria-Friesland to take on the No. 4 team Oct. 23.
Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy 3, Bowler 0
Bowler’s volleyball season ended with a 3-0 loss to Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy on Oct. 21.
In the Division 5 regional battle, No. 9 Bowler lost 25-20, 25-18, 25-20 to the No. 8 co-op team
Marion 3, Stockbridge 0
Marion, seeded No. 6, advanced in Division 5 postseason action with a 3-0 shutout of No. 11 seed Stockbridge. Scores were 25-12, 25-17, 25-20.
The Mustangs will play Oct. 23 at No. 3 Almond-Bancroft.
Merrill 3, Shawano 1
Shawano, seeded No. 9, won the first set in its Division 2 regional match, but No. 8 seed Merrill captured the next three to take a 3-1 victory and advance in playoff action.
Merrill’s winning scores were 21-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-18.
The Hawks ended the season at 15-23 overall.
Leading Shawano during the season were Natalie Bystol with 395 kills, 42 serving aces and 242 digs; Creden Weisnicht with 36 total blocks; and London Bowman with 314 assists.
Gresham 3, Oneida Nation 1
Gresham defeated Oneida Nation 3-1 in the opening round of regional action.
The No.7 Wildcats won by set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-6, 25-22 over the No. 10 seed Thunderhawks.
Gresham will travel to No. 2 Green Bay NEW Lutheran on Oct. 23.
Bonduel 3, Menominee Nation 0
Bonduel defeated Menominee Nation 3-0 in the opening round of regionals.
The No. 7 Bears will travel to No. 2 Oconto on Oct. 23 for semifinal action.
Gillett 3, Goodman/Pembine 0
Gillett defeated Goodman/Pembine 3-0 in their regional volleyball match. The final set scores were 25-17, 25-20 and 25-9.
Gillett will play Oct. 23 at Niagara.
