Vernon V. Miller

Vernon V. Miller, 81, of Gillett, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025. Vern was born Oct. 17, 1943, to the late Bernhard and Agnes (Dumke) Miller in the family house in Gillett. He lived on his property his entire life. Vern married Sandra Zittlow on Sept. 21, 1968, and together they raised four daughters. For many years, Vern worked as a painter. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Vern also enjoyed watching the garden grow and feeding the crows. He loved singing in his band The Sidekicks and then The Vibrations. Vern is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (Patrick) Flynn of Gillett, Stacie (Dan) Chapin of Gillett, Dawn (John) Wenninger of Wautoma and Leanne (Brandon) Miller of Wautoma; grandchildren, Eric Fellenz, Amber (Brad) Steichen, Ashley (Brandon) Zadow, Austin Miller, Emily Wenninger, Haley (Sebastain) Contreras, Abbey Miller, Reese Chapin, Jake Wenninger, Hannah Miller and Carly Chapin; great-grandchildren, Emberly Steichen, Mazie Herbst and Henrik Steichen; brothers, Ed (Marsha) Miller and Del (Connie) Miller. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandy. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at Randy’s Place Bar & Bowl in Suring starting at 2 p.m. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
