Paula Jean Reed, 54, died peacefully, after courageously battling cancer for over two years, on June 16, 2021, at her home in Lakewood. She was surrounded by her husband, Rich, her children, Emily, Rachel and Hunter, her grandson, Joey, and her sister, Margaret. Paula was born in Kenosha to Rovella Mary Cosentino. Paula grew up in Mountain and graduated from Suring High School in 1985.
She married the love of her life, Rich Reed, on May 26, 1989. Together, they had three beautiful children, who were raised in Oconto Falls. During these years, she provided daycare for many children who became her extended family. Those who knew Paula know that she devoted her life to her family. A kind spirit, she touched those around her with love and compassion. As a mother, she devoted every ounce of her being to her children. As a wife, she loved unconditionally and fully.
In every facet of her life — daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, daycare provider, neighbor and friend — she loved deeply. True to her selflessness and empathy, during her last few years of life, she insisted that those close to her live their fullest lives in her absence. Paula always did and will continue to uplift those around her.
Paula was preceded in death by her father, Ray Anderson; her brother, Charlie Anderson; and her father-in-law, Joseph Reed.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Reed; her three children, Emily, Rachel (Yusef), and Hunter Reed; one grandson, Josef Gray; her mother, Rovella Anderson; her sisters, Robin Duffek (Steve), Tina Klein (Karthik), Maggie Pichotta (Brian); her brother, Roger (Debbie); her mother in-law, Janet Reed; her loving nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Paula’s family would like to extend gratitude to Aurora Baycare and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic doctors and staff, as well as the LeRoyer Hospice team of nurses for their endless commitment to provide the best care and comfort, from the initial diagnosis to her last moments.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakewood with Pastor Joshua McKenna officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to time of service at church.
