Shawano’s AJ Springborn jumped up from a ninth-place starting position to take the checkered flag in the 20-lap sport modifieds feature race Aug. 22 at the Shawano Speedway.
He edge out Oconto Falls’ Cole Magnin, who started in 10th and placed second, as well as Seymour’s Tim Jorgenson, who started 11th and finished third.
Pole sitter Andrew Engels, of Oconto Falls, finished in 10th place.
Springborn and Kiel’s Ryan Zimmerman won the heat races.
Kevin Feck, of Wausau, won the 20-lap modifieds feature race after starting fourth. Wausau’s Marcus Yarie started eighth and placed second, and New London’s Tanner Jahnke started sixth and finished third.
Pole sitter Trent Nolan, of Shawano, did not finish and placed 15th.
Winning the heat races were Shawano’s Jordan Bartz, Nolan and Bear Creek’s Gary Jahnke.
Nolan won the 20-lap stock car feature race after starting in the 10th position. He topped Montello’s Tyler Schrimpf, who started 11th and placed second, and Gillett’s Travel Welch, who started seventh and placed third.
Pole sitter Riley Magee, of Pulaski, did not finish and ended up in 16th.
Heat winners were Nolan, Schrimpf and Welch.
The checkered flag int he 12-lap sport compact division was won by Clintonville’s Brad Wedde, who started the race in ninth place.
Clintonville’s Tanner Westphal started in 10th and finished second, and Seymour’s Nick Everard started second and placed third.
Pole sitter Mark Phillips, of Clintonville, placed 12th.
Winning the heats were Luxemburg’s Nathan Lisowe and Clintonville’s Seth Collar.
The Dirt King late models return to the track Aug. 28, with the season finale set for Sept. 5.
