Shawano, Appleton United skate to a 3-3 tie

Shawano held a 3-1 lead after two periods, but Appleton United fought back to tie the game and leave the two teams with a 3-3 score.

Neither team scored in the first period, and Appleton United took a 1-0 lead at 1:16 in the second period.

Shawano scored all three of its goals in the same period.

First, at 4:20, Blake Swedberg scored with Gavin Hundt assisting. Hundt scored at 6:02 with Cameron Schroeder assisting. Finally, Hundt scored again at 14:02 with Swedberg assisting.

Hawks goalie Tyson Lyons recorded 36 saves on 39 shots on goal. Appleton United goalie Brady Boldt had 12 saves against 15 shots on goal.

Appleton United was penalized three times for nine minutes, while Shawano was called for five infractions for 10 minutes.

Waupaca 3, Antigo 1

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Ethan Novy scored the only goal for the Red Robins as Waupaca defeated Antigo 3-1.

Trailing 1-0, Novy scored unassisted at 7:50 in the second period.

Neither team scored in the first or third periods.

Red Robins goalie Austin Martinson collected 44 saves against 47 shots on goal. Comets goalie Carson Jameson had 17 saves against 18 shots on goal.

Each team was penalized one time for two minutes.

Fond du Lac Springs 1, Bay Area 0

Fond du Lac Springs and Bay Area combined for 67 shots on goal but only had one score as the Legders topped the Storm 1-0.

Storm goalie Justin Pintar had 34 saves, and Ledgers goalie Memphis Young had 32.

Fond du Lac Spring was called for four penalties for eight minutes, while Bay Area had five infractions for 10 minutes.
