Magdaline 'Maggie' Smith

Magdaline “Maggie” Smith, 89, of Birnamwood, died on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at Cloverleaf Terrace in Birnamwood, under the care of Interim Hospice. Maggie was born on Nov. 7, 1935, in the Town of Rolling, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Brunner) Servi. Maggie was one of the Servi triplets. Maggie graduated from Eau Claire River Grade School in the Town of Harrison, Marathon County, and then went to Antigo High School. On Jan. 20, 1954, Maggie was united in marriage to Gerald Theilman at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1958. Together, the couple had three children, Sharon, Diane and Dennis. On Oct. 26, 1964, Maggie was united in marriage to Gerald Smith Sr. in Antigo. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1984. The couple had three children, Mary, Patti and Garald. Maggie was formerly employed at Kolbe and Kolbe for 18 years, retiring in 1983. She then worked part time at Lakeside until she retired in 2002. Maggie enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, bingo and darts. Maggie was a member of St. Philomena Parish, Birnamwood, and Christian Mother’s Altar Society. Maggie is survived by her children, Sharon (Larry) Cleapor, of Kansas, Diane Stoltz, of Schofield, Dennis (Gina) Theilman, of Birnamwood, Mary (Chris) Steinhauer, of Mattoon, and Patti Smit,h of Wausau; grandchildren, Russell, Jason, Jessica, Jennifer, Kris, Amy, Heather, Kevin, Rebecca, Max, Scotty, Joshua, Brandon and Brianna; three step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Martha (Richard) Rose, of New London; brother-in-law, Arthur Schumitch, of Neshkoro; sister-in-law, Gloria Servi, of Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews. Maggie was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Theilman and Gerald Smith Sr.; parents; son, Garald Smith Jr.; siblings, Paul, William, Raymond, Louis, James, Joseph, Harry, Leonard, Mary and Anna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood. The Rev. Vicente Llagas will officiate. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Aniwa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
