Patricia Evelyn Zimmermann

Patricia Evelyn Zimmermann, 101, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Peshtigo. Patricia was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, on March 17, 1921, to the late Leo J. and Eva Belle (Herrick) Raiter. Patricia worked as a stewardess for the railroad, transporting sick people from Chicago to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. In September 1944, Patricia was united in marriage to Richard B. Zimmermann at the Marquette University Chapel. After marriage, Patricia worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee as a maternity nurse. Upon retiring, Patricia and Richard moved to the Legend Lake area in 1983. Richard preceded Patricia in death on Aug. 25, 1998. Patricia was a former member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Milwaukee and St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena. She was a very active woman who enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved to share her baked goods with family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, dancing, reading, and spending time in nature, boating and hiking. Patricia spent her final years at Renaissance in Marinette and then Rennes-West in Peshtigo. She was a sweet, loving, generous woman and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She was truly the matriarch of her family and was loved and admired by all. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her three children, Sharon Fialkowski, Patti (James) Johnson, and Mary Jo (Dennis) Urbanek; seven grandchildren, Angela (Mike Pakkala) Urbanek, Justin (Alissa) Urbanek, Donna (Brandon) Belongia, Michael (Laurie) Fialkowski, Andrew (Kuni) Fialkowski, Matthew (Beth) Johnson, and David Johnson; 13 great grandchildren, Gunner Eichner, Keira Urbanek, Olivia Urbanek, Asher Urbanek, Ryan Belongia, Carmen Belongia, Laithen Belongia, Sawyer Belongia, Jake Fialkowski, Samantha Fialkowski, Noah Fialkowski, Lucas Fialkowski and Zaiden Johnson; and a brother, Bernie Raiter. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter, Jo Marie; a grandson, Daniel Johnson; and brothers and sisters, Audrey, Dorothy, Myrna, Dick, Jerry and Bill. A funeral service for Patricia will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. Nonito Barra officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held at Valhalla Memorial Park, located at 5402 N. 91st St., Milwaukee, on Monday, April 25, 2022, at noon.
