Joanne Monfort, 82, Kelly Lake, died Friday evening, March 18, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. She was born April 2, 1939, to Edward and Louise (Yakel) Skarban.
On Feb. 27, 1965, she married James Monfort at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spruce. The couple made their home into a family farm near Kelly Lake, where they raised beef cattle and horses. Joanne retired from Coleman Products. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and caring for her two favorite animals, Moe the horse and Chips the dog.
Survivors are one sister-in-law, Delores Skarban, Milwaukee; one brother-in-law, Mike Flynn, Pound; two special friends and neighbors, Victor “Bud” Steffeck, Spruce, and Duane and Sherry Jagiello, Lena; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim, in 1997; two brothers, Bob and Ed (Lou) Skarban; and one sister, Mary Flynn.
A private burial with no services will be held at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery, Spruce.
Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls is serving the Monfort family.
The Monfort family would like to thank the doctors and staff on the sixth floor ICU and ninth floor of St. Vincent Hospital for the care and concern shown Joanne during their time together.
