Ricky Lee Berton

Born on a hot and dry day on Aug. 6, 1952, Ricky Lee Berton was the 11th of 12 children born to George K. and Lucille M. (Rusch) Berton. Ricky grew up in Shawano, where he would spend his youth with his mother after his father died in 1962 when he was just 10 years old. After his mother married for a second time, they moved to Cloverleaf Lakes, and Ricky attended school in Clintonville. He eventually made his way to Milwaukee where he worked for the Ambrosia Chocolate Factory for decades, retiring when he was 66. Ricky had an extreme work ethic and never said a bad word about anyone. He was passionate about spring tulips and worked for years on a vision of opening a bed and breakfast full of antiques but this dream was never fully realized. He attended the Ridge Community Church and was born again. Ricky died on Aug. 24, 2021, of a heart attack. Ricky is survived by his brothers and sisters, George Berton, of Neenah, Wayne (Linda) Berton, of Neenah, Diane (Robert) Bohm, of Green Bay, Marsha (George) Davis, of Sherwood, Patty (Tony) Boulanger, of Green Bay, and Peter Berton, of Hawaii. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Larry, Tom, Jeffry and Randall Berton; and a sister, Joan Oberle. A private memorial service will be held for Ricky in the future.
