Iris Duffy

Iris Duffy, 101, Green Bay, formerly of Abrams, died Thursday morning, Sept. 30, 2021, at Marla Vista in Green Bay. She was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Manitowoc to Robert E. and Inez (Robertson) Nicholson. Iris grew up in Manitowoc where she graduated from Lincoln High School. As a young lady, she worked at Aluminum Specialty in Manitowoc. On Aug. 9, 1941, she married Edward “Ted” Duffy in Manitowoc. The couple owned and operated a family farm in the Town of Morgan for 46 years where they raised their five sons. Iris was also employed at Elliot Glove in Oconto for 20 years. In 1983, the couple moved to Abrams where Iris worked at Pine Acres Golf Course for many years. Iris loved crocheting, reading, playing cards and golf. Survivors are five sons and four daughters-in-law, Eugene and Barb Duffy, Green Bay; James and Karen Duffy, Brooksville, Florida; Dennis and Marilyn Duffy, Alamo, Texas; Frank and Theresa Duffy, Manitowoc; Robert Duffy, Abrams; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted, in 1999, four brothers and three sisters-in-law, two sisters and brothers-in-law, one grandson along with other family members. Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at St. Maximilian Catholic Church, 6051 Noble St., Sobieski, WI 54171 until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Francis Nusi officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Oconto Falls. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls is serving the Duffy family. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
