Bonduel 79, Roncalli 72
Bonduel’s boys, ranked No. 3 in the state, opened play at the Shawano Hoops Holiday Classic at the Kress Center at UW-Green Bay with a 79-72 win over No. 6 ranked Roncalli.
Ryan Westrich had a double-double with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Quinn Wesenberg also scored 25 points, as the Bears improved to 6-0 on the season.
Griffin Uelmen scored 13 points.
Shawano 74, Oconto Falls 59
The Hawks led the Panthers by as much as 30 points in the second half and coasted to a 74-59 win at the Shawano Hoops Holiday Classic at the Kress Center at UW-Green Bay.
Jameson Beaman and Collin Radtke led Oconto Falls with 14 points, and J.J. Pytleski added 12.
Teagan Tate had six rebounds, and Beaman had a pair of steals.
Beaman, Brady Bursa and Carson McDermid each contributed three assists.
Sevastopol 67, Lena 28
The matchup between Lean and Sevastopol at the Shawano Hoops Holiday Classic at UW-Green Bay was nearly the opposite of the game between the school’s girls teams.
This time, Sevastopol easily won 67-28.
The Pioneers dominated pretty much from the beginning, holding a 36-19 lead at the half. A 31-9 second half game Sevastopol its 39-point win.
Gresham 55, St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 54
A 3-point basket at the end of the game was enough to lift Gresham past St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 55-54 at the Wildcats home tournament.
The Cavaliers led by three at the half, maintained and even built upon their lead throughout the second half – until the final basket.
St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 60, Bowler 55
The Panthers trailed by double digits with just a few minutes left in the game, and although they battled back, they couldn’t get close enough before time ran out. St. Thomas Aquinas Academy beat Bowler 60-55 at the Gresham Tournament.
Providence Academy 68, Gillett 39
Gillett and Providence Academy played a tight first half with Providence Academy taking a 25-21 lead into the break. However, the hosts blew the game open in the second half 43-18 to win 68-39.
Gillett spread the ball around with seven players scoring. Sophomore Brandon Slatky led his teammates with nine points.
