Shawano County District 22 Supervisor Michael Trinko did not file paperwork for reelection nor did he file a declaration of non-candidacy, County Clerk Raymond Rigsby said.
That led to a 72-hour extension past the 5 p.m. Jan. 6 deadline for anyone to file; yet, no one did.
District 5 Supervisor Curtis Naja and District 7 Supervisor Jeremy Gretzinger declined to run, and no one else filed paperwork.
Rigsby said there are now no candidates for those three districts.
On the flip side, there are four districts that will see candidates challenging the incumbents.
“We have new candidate challengers to the incumbents in Districts 9 Supervisor (Ken) Capelle, 14 Supervisor (Matt) Pleshek, 20 Supervisor (Rick) Giese and 25 Supervisor (Dennis) Knaak,” Rigsby said.
Capelle is challenged by Charles Fritsch. Timothy Novitski is challenging Pleshek. Giese is being challenged by Roy Martin, and Steven Steinke is challenging Knack.
Also not seeking another term are Heather Pahl in District 2 and Lowel Hammett in District 16.
Collin Pomplun will seek the District 2 seat, and Curt Korth will seek the District 16 spot.
The remaining incumbents are running unopposed.
