Aspirus hospitals recognized as top performers

Multiple Aspirus hospitals across Wisconsin have been recognized as CheckPoint Top Performers by the Wisconsin Hospital Association.

This recognition places Aspirus hospitals among the top 10% of hospitals statewide in several key quality and patient safety measures, reflecting the system’s ongoing commitment to excellence in care.

WHA’s CheckPoint program is a voluntary hospital quality reporting initiative that makes more than 45 measures publicly available. These measures track performance in critical areas such as infection prevention, patient safety, surgical outcomes and patient experience. By participating in CheckPoint, hospitals provide transparent data that patients, providers and community members can use to make informed decisions about their care.

Aspirus hospitals were recognized for performance in areas such as:

• Infection prevention: Achieving low rates of C. difficile infections and surgical site infections.

• Patient safety: Reducing in-hospital falls with fractures, pressure ulcers and postoperative complications.

• Maternal and newborn care: Meeting key standards for cesarean birth rates and newborn screening timelines.

• Patient experience: Earning strong patient recommendations for care received.
