SCHS senior receives GreenStone Scholarship
This year, 21 ambitious students were selected to receive a GreenStone scholarship, and one of those students is Dane Adams.
Adams resides in Shawano and attends Shawano Community High School. Adams excelled in school, achieving a 3.99 cumulative grade-point average. Adams is heavily involved in his community and school and has actively been involved in FFA and Boy Scouts. He has earned numerous awards, including being ranked the sixth highest individual in the FFA Forestry Career Development event, serving as his FFA chapter president, and being named an Eagle Scout.
This fall, Adams will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with the goal of earning a degree in forestry. Following graduation, Adams hopes to have the opportunity to move to the west side of the country to pursue his dream of fighting wildfires around the United States before returning to Wisconsin. After returning home, Dane hopes to work in the Department of Natural Resources within Wisconsin’s Forestry Department as a forester near his family’s hunting land.
Since 2010, GreenStone has awarded up to $40,000 each year in scholarships to incoming college freshmen, awarding $2,000 to students pursuing four-year college degrees and $1,000 to students pursuing two-year college degrees. GreenStone continues to invest in students planning to pursue a career in agriculture as the next generation of students will have an extremely significant impact on the agricultural industry as an entity.

Culver’s seeking place to bring food truck
To give guests around the country a more vivid look into its heritage, Culver’s is taking its first-ever food truck, a 22-foot truck wrapped in an illustrated scene of farm fields and dairy cows, to 17 cities on the “From Wisconsin With Love” tour.
Beyond the free Wisconsin cheese curds and fresh frozen custard served from the truck, the immersive experience is the brand’s way of exporting Wisconsin through family fun and larger-than-life guest experiences, as well as giving back to its communities along the way.
Currently, Milwaukee is the only Wisconsin stop out of 16 cities confirmed on the tour route, but the restaurant company is giving people the chance to bring a slice of America’s Dairyland to their city by making it the 17th destination. In the From Wisconsin With Love Sweepstakes, guests can nominate a city of their choice to become the final tour stop through June 5.
To enter a community for consideration, people can go to www.culvers.com/from-wisconsin-with-love/sweepstakes.
