Three seats are open on the Shawano School Board for next April’s election.
The seats are currently held by Tim Renard, Mike Musolff and John Arens. Out of the three, only Renard has turned in paperwork so far, according to administrative assistant Lori Sherman.
Anyone interested in running for the seats only needs to complete a candidacy form and campaign registration to run for one of the seats. Renard and Musolff are in Area III, which is comprised of the Town of Wescott and the Town of Washington. Arens is in Area II, which is comprised of the towns of Waukechon, Belle Plaine and Navarino.
Musolff had previous talked about leaving the board once his current term was over after he became Shawano’s police chief in 2024, but he has not turned in a non-candidacy form. The deadline to do so is Dec. 26.
Musolff has been absent from board meetings over the last few months.
If no candidates are on the ballot for Musolff’s or Arens’ seats, the board will fill the vacant seat in the spring.
The deadline for submitting election paperwork is 5 p.m. Jan. 6. If there are more than two candidates for any of the seats, there will be a primary election Feb. 17. The spring general election for 2026 is April 7.
