Several acres of trees on the southeast corner of County Road B and South Airport Drive will soon be clear cut in preparation for commercial development.

The Shawano Common Council on May 18 approved the conditional use permit recommended by the plan commission, which OK’d the permit April 29.

Torborg and Daughters LLC will clear cut the trees on 28.49 acres between County Road B and state Highway 29.

While the clear cutting is in preparation of future commercial development, there are currently no plans to develop the site, according to the plan commission. Vegetation guidelines will need to be followed on the site until then.
