A 15-year-old boy from Lena died as the result of a snowmobile accident Jan. 13, according to a news release from the Oconto County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Todd Skarban said law enforcement was notified of the single-vehicle crash at 7:32 p.m.

A Shawano man remains in the Shawano County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond and waits for representation after being charged three months ago with stalking his ex-girlfriend.

The event, a moonlight hike held on the night of the Wolf Moon — the first full moon of the new year — featured a winter trek through the state natural area and around the lake.

Another banner year is expected for the Hometown Heroes group that honors local veterans.
