Former Menominee County Sheriff Richard Moses Sr. died unexpectedly at his home Dec. 9. He was 78.

Area law enforcement departments extended condolences to his family and friends.

Members of the executive committee agreed Dec. 10 to enroll in a six-month pilot program in 2026 with GovAI.

“We don’t want to delay it anymore,” said Matt Hietpas, technology services director. “We agree there’s some use, very valuable use, for not only our employees but the residents of Shawano County, too.”

Pingel Processing started out as a small business in Red River, but residents in Shawano County and beyond have decided that small is not good enough due to demand.

1 incumbent completes school board paperwork

Three seats are open on the Shawano School Board for next April’s election.

The seats are currently held by Tim Renard, Mike Musolff and John Arens. Out of the three, only Renard has turned in paperwork so far, according to administrative assistant Lori Sherman.
