Hillside Assembly of God will join thousands of churches nationwide for National Back to Church Sunday on Sept. 20.
Hillside will mark the day with a 10 a.m. service, followed by refreshments and a time of fellowship. Nursery care and a separate children’s service for sixth grade and younger are available.
At 6 p.m., the church will host a night of worship and prayer featuring Unbroken Revival, a new worship band from Shawano.
Hillside Assembly of God is located at 5890 Highway 22 in Gillett.
In 2023, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy issued an advisory titled “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation,” identifying social isolation as a risk factor for heart disease, dementia, depression and premature death.
“Loneliness is a growing issue in our culture,” said the Rev. Jonathan Carlson, lead pastor of Hillside. “We want our community to know that our church — and really every church — is here as a place where people can make friends, find support, and belong. Nobody should have to walk through life alone.”
This year’s national campaign carries the theme “Find Your Place.” Hillside is inviting neighbors who are looking for community and purpose to find their place there.
National Back to Church Sunday marks its 17th year in 2026. Since 2009, more than 5 million people have participated through 33,000 churches nationwide.
