William A. Ehlers, 86, of Townsend, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
William was born June 10, 1939, to the late Allan and Madge (Wheeler) Ehlers. He married Carmen Retrum on Nov. 10, 1962. She preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 2022.
William served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. He owned and operated Ehlers Super Market and was in the grocery business his entire life. William enjoyed the outdoors and spending winters in Fort Meyers, Florida. He loved spending time with family.
William is survived by two sons, Chip (Julie), Little Chute, Dan (Dana), De Pere; sisters, Bunny Maloney, Debbie Ehlers-Brozek; grandchildren, Aimee Larson, Ashlee Larson, Nathan (Lizzy) Ehlers, Kristen (Sam) Santkuyl, Adam Ehlers; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Angelich.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, 17963 State Highway 32, Townsend. Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Wes “Bo” Baumeister officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Forest Home Cemetery.
