Albin G. Chilinski

Albin G. Chilinski, 90, of Shawano, formerly of Milwaukee, was born to eternal life on Wednesday, July 17, 2013.   He was a beloved husband for 64 years of Mable (nee Falk), dear father of Dennis and Allan (Genny) Chilinski and Denise (Joseph) Garcia, and loving grandfather of Clayton (Melissa) Flood. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.   Visitation will take place 5-8 p.m.
Marcella E. Malliet
Marcella E. Malliet, 74, of Shawano, formerly Clintonville, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at the Appleton Medical Center. The former Marcella Elaine LeNoble was born Oct. 7, 1938, in the town of Matteson, Waupaca County, to William and Imogene (Geer) LeNoble. She graduated from Clintonville High School in 1956 and was united in marriage on March 2, 1957, to Loy L. Malliet at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville.
Talon G. Peters
Talon Gus Peters, 21, started his journey into the spirit world on Thursday, July 18, 2013, in Keshena. Born on July 23, 1991, at the Antigo Hospital, he was the son of Shawn “Boober” Moede and George “Fuzzy” Peters. Talon was a fun-loving father and a very free spirit who loved to play jokes on people and loved to dance and rummage.
Grady Powless
Grady Powless, 55, of Half Moon Bay, Calif., passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013. Grady was born on Sept. 17, 1957, in Door County. He moved to California after spending seven years in the Peace Corps. Grady is survived by four sisters, Janelle Powless, Myrtle (Steven) Kitson, Roberta Westerfield and Jennie (Roger) Skenandore; and a brother, Tim Joadwine.

Brener awarded Purple Heart
It took nearly seven decades, but on July 2, the U.S. Army finally acknowledged its longstanding debt to a young soldier from Shawano wounded during the waning days of World War II. Pvt. Donald “Buck” Brener — an 18-year-old graduate of the Shawano High School Class of 1944 — was injured by a tank shell in Nazi Germany in April 1945.
Anne E. Baldwin
Anne E. Baldwin, 87, New London, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Evergreen Care Center, Shawano. She was born on July 8, 1926, in Pray to the late Paul and Anna (Mazur) Jagielo. (They were early Wisconsin homesteaders.) On Sept. 1, 1945, Anne was united in marriage to Robert Baldwin in Little Rock, Ark. They lived on a farm north of New London from 1962-2008. Bob preceded her in death in 2006.
