Annelies Hartwig resigned from the Shawano County Board after purchasing a home outside of the district.

County Board Chairman Tom Kautza made the announcement Sept. 3 at the county’s executive committee meeting.

Hartwig submitted her resignation Aug. 29. It was effective immediately.

“I did have interest some time ago from a woman by the name of Heather Pahl, so I’ll call and talk to her and see if she wants to fill the position,” County Board Chairman Tom Kautza said. “I don’t know if there’s anyone else from that area.”

Pahl is co-owner of Martin Jewellers in downtown Shawano.

Supervisor Randy Mallmann said Pahl would be a good choice.

“I would highly recommend her,” he said. “She would be good.”

Hartwig represented District 2, which includes Wards 3 and 4 in the city of Shawano.

The appointee would serve until April 2026. All county supervisor seats will be on the ballot then.
