After months of wrangling over titles, duties, responsibilities and more, only a new salary and a pool of applicants remain before Shawano County’s next administrative coordinator is hired.

The Lena Public School District will be asking voters for approval when they go to the polls in April to continue to provide funding beyond state-mandated limits for operational expenses.

Renovations of Shawano City Hall are getting close to completion, but in the meantime, business as usual is a bit noisier as the front desk area is currently being redone.

A proposed solar farm and accompanying facilities in the Town of Morgan will be the subject of a pair of public hearings in early March.

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin will hold public hearings at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. March 5 at the Oconto Falls Community and Senior Center, 512 Caldwell Ave.

New fees for the new aspects of the Shawano Recreation Center, currently under renovation, passed the first glance Feb. 18 from the Shawano Park and Recreation Commission.

Existing fees are expected to remain the same for now, according to Matt Hendricks, park and recreation director, but those fees were passed three years ago and are expected to be reviewed at the end of 2026.

Former Shawano County employee Lori Gagner was recently recognized for her three decades of service.

She worked for 30 years with the county, first as the assistant real property lister in the planning and development department and most recently within the technology services department.

A resolution to thank her was approved Feb. 19 by the executive committee. The county board is expected to approved the resolution Feb. 25.
