The Super Bowl LX matchup is set, and it’s a rematch from Super Bowl XLIX with the New England Patriots set to take on the Seattle Seahawks.

The last time the two teams met, it was an instant classic with Malcolm Butler picking off Russell Wilson at the goal line in the final minute to preserve a 28-24 victory for the Patriots.

The Super Bowl is upon us, and for the 15th consecutive season, the Green Bay Packers are not playing in it.

The Packers made the postseason with a 9-7-1 record and bowed out in the first round of the postseason with a collapse in the fourth quarter against their most hated rival, the Chicago Bears.

It is certainly a disappointment that Green Bay will not participate in the final game of the 2025-26 NFL season, as the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are set to battle it out for the title of Super Bowl Champion on Feb. 8.

Looking at the history between the Packers and the Seahawks and Patriots is very favorable toward Green Bay.

Let’s rewind to 2019.

Matt LaFleur is 13-3 and has his team in the NFC Championship Game in his first season as Green Bay’s head coach. The future looks bright, even though the Packers lose 37-20 to a vastly superior San Francisco 49ers team. The Packers responded by drafting Aaron Rodgers’ replacement in the first round when they moved up to draft Jordan Love.

As has been the case for each of the last 14 seasons for Green Bay, the Packers bowed out of the playoffs much earlier than anyone around the organization would have hoped.

After being up 21-6, Green Bay suffered a monumental collapse in the second half of its Wild Card matchup with the Chicago Bears, ultimately resulting in a 31-27 loss and ending the Packers’ season.

The Packers’ 2025-26 season came to an end Saturday as the Packers lost to the Chicago Bears 31-27 in the Wildcard Round of the NFL playoffs at Soldier Field.
