Tigerton wins important conference matchup

The Tigerton volleyball team traveled to CWC North foe Northland Lutheran for an Oct. 9 matchup that pitted two teams each sporting two conference losses so far this season.

Tigerton emerged with a 3-1 win with set scores of 25-17, 16-25, 25-21 and 25-16. “Tonight’s match was filled with 100% effort from each Lady Tiger,” coach Holly Meverden said. “I stressed before the game that they would need to play at that level for 75-plus points in order to win the match. They did that and more.”

Collecting digs for the Tigers were Jaelyn Brady with 20, Danika Tiller with 16, Aaliyah Lederhaus with 15, Renata Nordwig with 11 and Lillian Welch with seven.

Tiller had 12 assists, and Lederhaus contributed nine.

Welch, Lederhaus and Mya Smith tallied five kills each, and Presley Stewart-Rolfs and Nordwig each had four.

Stewart-Rolfs had four block kills, and Smith had two.

Lederhaus had 19 service points with 10 aces. Myah Dent had 11 points with three aces, with Nordwig getting nine points and three aces, Tiller collecting seven points and one ace, and Brady had five points and one ace.

Tigerton is 7-2 in CWC North play and 11-6 overall.
