Tigerton, Suring teams win on volleyball court

Tigerton headed to Green Bay to play a volleyball match against NEWCHAA (Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschool Athletic Association) on Sept. 16 and returned home with a 3-1 victory.

The match was played at the Sports Advantage Center.

The Tigers started off slowly by getting behind and losing the first set of the night. They then stormed back and won the next three sets to win the match 3-1 with set scores of 18-25, 27-25, 25-22 and 25-17.

Danika Tiller had 17 assists, and Aaliyah Lederhaus had 11.

Presley Stewart-Rolfs tallied 16, followed by Tiller, Lederhaus and Mya Smith with seven each, and Lillian Welch with six.

Jaelyn Brady led the Tigers with 22 digs, with Lederhaus adding 20, Renata Nordwig 16, Tiller 15, Welch nine, Stewart-Rolfs and Smith with six each, and Myah Dent with five.

Smith had the lone block kill.

As for service points and aces, Nordwig recorded 11 and six, respectively, followed by Stewart-Rolfs with nine points and two aces, Dent with nine points, Tiller with eight points with one ace, and Brady with seven points and an ace.

Suring 3, St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 0

Suring defeated St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 3-0, but the visitors edged closer with each set.

Suring won by scores of 25-10, 25-13, 26-24.

Chloe Schroeder notched 14 serves and four aces. Lexis Remic had 13 serves and three aces. Karissa Hiscke had 13 serves and an ace, while Grace Christensen had eight serves and an ace.

Schroeder led the Eagles with 33 assists; she also had four kills. Aliya Cox led with 11 kills, the team’s only block kill and two digs.

Ellayna Skarban added eight kills, while Remic had seven kills, four digs and an assist. Hiscke tallied four kills and two digs, and Addison Frank had two assists. Christensen collected six kills, two digs and an assist.
