Shawano 42, Green Bay United 12
There was a full house at Shawano Community High School on Dec. 11 as the Hawks hosted Green Bay United for a dual match featuring boys, girls, varsity and junior varsity wrestling.
The girls won handily, 42-12.
In JV girls action, Braylon Nacotee won by fall in 1:36, and Amiyah O”Kimosh won 13-11 over Meicha Hamm of GBU.
Varsity matches began with Zennah Bosetski winning by forfeit at 100, Gwyn Hermann earning a pin in 37 seconds at 107, and at 114, Bella Tupper earning a pin in 2:13 over Asha Vang of GBU.
At 120 pounds, Jenna Moede earned a fall over Aaralyn Olson in 3:43. At 126, Madelyn Moesch earned a forfeit. At 132, Lauren Seehafer earned a forfeit as well, and at 138, Ella Korth was pinned by Haily Brundidge of GBU in 3:50.
There was a double forfeit at 145, and at 152, Vivian Waldburger earned a pin in 1:22 over Andrea Leuthoudom.
“The girls have been working at getting better each day in practice,” coach Stacey Homan said. “There is still a long way to go, but there is some improvement going on.
“I thought Bella Tupper and Vivian Waldburger wrestled tough matches tonight. They really wrestled hard through some injury and adversity.”
GBU earned forfeits at 165 and 235.
The Shawano girls are now 1-3.
