Red Raiders, Wildcats win in opening round of soccer playoffs

The No. 2 seeded Red Raiders rolled to an 8-1 opening round win over the 15th-seeded Red Devils in WIAA Division 2 postseason soccer action Oct. 21.

Pulaski got a fast start, scoring three goals in the first 10 minutes. Green Bay East cut the deficit to 3-1 with a goal in the 22nd minute of the first half.

The Red Raiders pulled away in the second half, scoring five unanswered goals.

Josh Aranda led the way for Pulaski with four goals, and Daenen Kehoe added a goal and two assists.

Also scoring were Gunner Decker, Alex Klopotic and Walker Wozniak. Decker, AJ Schenk, Nolan Pratt and Colin Tackmier each had an assist.

Brian Martinez had seven saves on goal for East. Jonah Drevs made four saves on goal for Pulaski.

Pulaski will host 10th-seeded Cedarburg in the regional final at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at Saputo Stadium.

Gresham/Bowler 1, Green Bay NEW Lutheran 0

The Wildcats shut out the Blazers 1-0 to advance in Division 3 soccer playoff action.

It was Gresham/Bowler’s third win of the season, while Green Bay NEW Lutheran ended their year at 4-15.

Gresham/Bowler will travel to No. 1 Sturgeon Bay for a regional semifinal game at 7 p.m. Oct. 23.
