Pulaski, Bonduel, Oconto Falls and Lena/STAA will head into their final regular-season football game after posting wins Oct. 10.
Pulaski defeated Green Bay Preble 63-35 in Fox River Classic Conference-North play, Bonduel handed Oconto a 48-13 loss in a Packerland Conference matchup, Oconto Falls shut out Northland Pines 32-0 in the Northwoods Conference, and Lena/STAA stayed unbeaten with a 43-6 Across the Bay Conference win over Gibraltar.
Pulaski 63, Green Bay Preble 35
It didn’t take the Red Raiders long to find the end zone against the Hornets in Green Bay.
Bohdan Schmidt’s 74-yard touchdown run 20 seconds into the game was one of his three scores in the first quarter, as he later scored on runs of 9 and 73 yards.
The Red Raiders added three more touchdowns in the second quarter on Anthony Ficarri’s runs of 80 and 20 yards and a 24-yard run from Schmidt.
However, the Hornets scored once in the first quarter and outscored the Red Raiders 22-21 in the second quarter.
Pulaski added to its 42-28 halftime lead on Trentyn Linz’s 27-yard run that turned out to be the only score of the third quarter.
Brock Weideman and Bruno Gajewski added touchdown runs of 13 and 3 yards, respectively, in the fourth quarter before Preble added a touchdown pass in the final seconds.
Schmidt and Ficarri accounted for most of the Red Raiders’ 561 rushing yards, as Schmidt finished with 260 yards on 15 carries and now has 1,025 yards on the season, and Ficarri added 193 on 10 attempts.
Lena/STAA 43, Gibraltar 6
Lena/STAA, the No. 2-ranked 8-player team in the state, wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a win in Fish Creek.
The Titans led 30-0 at halftime and held the Vikings scoreless until giving up a touchdown pass late in the game. The shutout would have been the team’s sixth of the season.
