Oconto Falls 48, Luxemburg-Casco 41
Luxemburg-Casco held a double-digit lead in the first half but went silent on the scoreboard for nearly the rest of the game, as Oconto Falls’ girls basketball team steadily worked its way back into the contest and eventually a 48-41 lead.
By late in the second half, the Panthers held their own double-digit lead, but the Spartans battled back to a 41-41 tie. Oconto Falls connected on the last several baskets of the game to earn the seven-point North Eastern Conference win.
The Panthers are 7-9 in conference action, while the Spartans are 10-6. Oconto Falls is 10-14 overall.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood 80, Iola-Scandinavia 42
Wittenberg-Birnamwood opened up a huge 51-17 lead by halftime, and it only got better from there as the Chargers defeated Iola-Scandinavia 80-42 in a CWC-East game.
“We had a nice first half,” coach Nick Mechelke said. “We were able to create a lot turnovers that led to our scoring.”
The Chargers, as CWC-East champions, are 14-0 in the conference and 23-0 overall.
