Thomas Matthew “Tom” Kugel, 89, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at his home in Shawano.

Tom was born Nov. 10, 1935, at the home farm in the Town of Waukechon to the late Frank and Barbara (Stempa) Kugel. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1954.

Constance (“Grama” Connie) Lucille Sommer, 92, of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away Oct. 4, 2025, at her residence.

Richard “Dick” Gerndt, 81, of Suring, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.

Dick was born June 21, 1944, “first day of summer, longest day of the year,” to the late Leland and Norma (Nelson) Gerndt. He graduated from Suring High School with the class of 1962. Dick then served in the United States Army from 1966-68 during the Vietnam War.

Irene “Renee” Kathleen Koehne, cherished mother and beloved community member, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2025, at the age of 88 in Hobart.

Born on July 3, 1937, in Oconto Falls, Irene embraced life with a remarkable spirit that touched everyone she met. She graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1955. Irene married her high school sweetheart, John Koehne, on Aug. 12, 1961.

Viola E. Konkel, 96, formerly of Galloway, died peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at Rennes Health and Rehab, Weston.

Viola was born on July 28, 1929, in Shawano County, the daughter of Clarence and Claricy (Geurin) Wendler.
