Stanley E. Olson, 93, of Gillett, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025. Stan was born in the Town of Maple Valley on July 18, 1931, to the late Stanley and Matilda (Miller) Olson. He served his country in the Korean War as a paratrooper and medic in the 187th airborne regiment combat team. After his honorable discharge in 1954, Stan joined the Milwaukee Fire Department in 1954. After 32 years of service there, he retired in 1986.

Phyliss I. Goltz, 89, of the Town of Matteson, passed away Jan. 22, 2025. Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory, Clintonville.

Vian Carol (Long) Kersten, 90, of Wittenberg, died on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at House of the Dove in Marshfield. Vian was born on July 22, 1934, in the Town of Almon, the daughter of Harold and Adeline (Zeinert) Long. On Oct. 1, 1955, Vian was united in marriage to Milan Kersten in Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2014. Vian was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was on the altar guild for many years.

Nicholas P. Hill, 34, of Appleton, passed away Jan. 20, 2025, in the Town of Larrabee. Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory, Clintonville.

Richard Bradley “Dick” Kessen, 74, died unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at his home in Eland, with his little dog, Ute, at his side. Dick was born on April 24, 1950, in Shawano, the third son of Harris and Nellie (Pietz) Kessen.

Duane Janik, 76, of Lena, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, at the Meng Residence in De Pere, with his wife at his side. He was born June 29, 1948, in Oconto Falls, son of the late Edward and Esther (Bogsted) Janik, and was a graduate of Oconto Falls High School, class of 1966. After high school, Duane enlisted with the Army Reserves. He was united in marriage to Faye Umentum on July 13, 1968, in Oconto Falls.
