Oconto woman dies in Little River crash

One person is dead after a crash involving a vehicle versus pedestrian accident July 23 in the Town of Little River.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Dispatch Center was notified just after 2 p.m. about the crash near the 7000 block of Hillcrest Road.

The pedestrian, an 86-year-old woman from Oconto, was found unresponsive alongside the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a sheriff’s department press release. A preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle, driven by a 75-year-old woman from Oconto, was southbound on Hillcrest Road when it struck the pedestrian.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the sheriff’s department and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office. No other information is being released at this time.

The sheriff’s department was also assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Coleman Rescue and Little River Fire Department.
