Marilynn R. Leisch

Marilynn R. Leisch, 87, Oconto, passed away peacefully May 17, 2023. She was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Wauwautosa, to Ralph and Florella (Hunkosky) Leisch. Marilynn attended Kelly Brook Grade School and graduated from Oconto Falls High School valedictorian of the class of 1954. She worked at Bond Pickle, Oconto, and was a 4-H leader at Maple Valley before moving to Phoenix around 1970. She worked as an administrative assistant at ASU-Admissions. When she moved to Payson, Arizona, she worked for Barbara Nicks (Stevie Nicks’ mother) in her antique store and was in contact with her many fans via email and phone doing mailings of Stevie’s items and was very involved in her fan club even after she moved back to Oconto in 2000. Marilynn first volunteered at Oconto Middle School and then worked for the school for many years. She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. Marilynn and her sister Karen were avid Cubs fans before the Braves moved to Milwaukee in 1953 and have continued to be fans since, mostly listening to them on the radio. She was also a proud supporter of the Oconto Area Humane Society. Marilynn said: “I had a good run.” Marilynn is survived by two brothers, Tom (Sandy) and Michael (Penny); two sisters, Karen and Linda; two sisters-in-law, Sandy and Mary Leisch; special niece, Tina Kryger and many nieces, nephews, cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Bill; a niece, Sharon Leisch Davidson; and a nephew, Adam Hertwig. A private service will be held at a later date at Pine Hill Cemetery, Town of Spruce. The Gallagher Funeral Home is assisting the family.
