Lena/STAA’s Miller named defensive player of the year

One Suring player, a Gillett player and three from Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy earned first team all-conference honors for the Across the Bay Conference.

Lena/STAA senior Colt Miller was named defensive player of the year.

Suring junior Kroix Kempka was honored as a running back, as was Lena/STAA senior Max Peterson.

Miller was chosen as an offensive end, and senior Blake Behnke was recognized as an offensive lineman.

Kempka and Peterson were also named to the first team defense as linebackers, and Miller was honored as a defensive lineman.

Gillett senior Jedric Herzog was selected for the first team as a punter.

Miller was also named to the second team offense as a placekicker, and Lena/STAA junior Collin Van Ark was recognized as as offensive lineman.

Second team defensive players honored were Lena/STAA senior Sam Peterson as defensive back, junior Luke Koslowsky as linebacker and sophomore PJ Finger as defensive lineman.

Chosen for offensive honorable mention status were Suring junior Taylor Booth-Stoffregen as quarterback, Gillett senior Clayton Borremans as running back, Gillett freshman Brock Murphy as running back, Sam Peterson as running back, Suring junior Grant Thompson as running back, Suring junior Dayne Emis as offensive end, Lena/STAA senior Cooper Demmith as as offensive lineman, Suring junior Karl Hischke as offensive lineman and Gillett junior Trevor Schaal as offensive lineman.

Honorable mention defensive players included Booth-Stoffregen as defensive back, Herzog as defensive back, Lena/STAA junior Jake Farley as defensive back, Suring junior Dyllan Flynn as linebacker, Murphy as linebacker, and Schaal and Thompson as defensive linemen.
