Kevin G. Soufal

Kevin G. Soufal, 63, passed away after a brief illness early Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021. He was born June 11, 1958, to Gerald and Carol (Steward) Soufal. After graduating from Shawano High School in 1976, Kevin attended NWTC to begin his work as an engineering technician. He joined Ayres Associates and began a 40-plus-year career, currently employed as a senior designer in civil engineering. On Dec. 30, 1978, Kevin was united in the sacrament of marriage to Jean Schmeisser at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. He was a loving and patient husband, father and grandfather who adored spending time with his family. Kevin coached baseball for many years, from Little League to high school levels. His passion was the outdoors, whether hunting or fishing with the change of seasons. He also enjoyed watching and playing sports — Brewers baseball, Packers football, bowling, and volleyball leagues. His Catholic faith was also a priority, and he was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. He is survived by his wife, Jean Soufal; three children, Andrea (Phil III) Verville, Gregory (Cathie) Soufal and Stephanie (Anthony Gladych) Soufal; his grandchildren, Emma, Phillip IV and Madelyn Verville, Jaxon and Drew Soufal, and Adrienne Gladych; his mother, Carol Soufal; a sister, Mary (Steve) Johnson; brother-in-law, Steve (Mickey) Schmeisser; other relatives including nieces and nephews; his business colleagues; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Soufal; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Arlene Schmeisser; nieces Melissa and Emily Schmeisser. Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 30, from 9:30-10:50 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Drive, Green Bay. Please use the South Point Road entrance as there will be construction work in the parking lot off the Oakwood Drive entrance. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.
