Ice Bears win in shutout

The Bay Area Ice Bears improved to 4-0 while handing Lakeshore Lightning its first loss of the season in a 4-0 shutout Dec. 4 at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

After a scoreless first period, Elizabeth Bunker scored 40 seconds into the second stanza with an assist by Addison Dahl. Lily Lyons then assisted Aisling Buchan when she scored at 3:15.

The third period got underway with a goal from Hannah Von Haden and a Lyons assist at 1:23. The Ice Bears’ final goal came at 9:54 on a goal from Faye Brunke and an assist from Von Haden.

Goalie Reese Spiering made 10 saves for Bay Area. Elizabeth Bowers had 43 saves as the Ice Bears had 47 shots on goal.

Lakeshore was penalized once for two minutes, and Bay Area was called for three infractions for six minutes.
