Hawks win in double overtime

Shawano and Mosinee played into a double overtime period before the Hawks pulled out a 4-3 victory.

Shawano Community High School sophomore Quinten Harkey scored the winning goal at 1:15 in the second overtime period with Michael Dillenberg assisting.

The game started with Mosinee talking a 1-0 lead in the first period.

Shawano/Bonduel tied the game at 1:02 in the second period when Kielian Armbruster scored with Blake Swedberg assisting. The go-ahead goal came at 7:09 when Swedberg scored with help from Gavin Hundt and Armbruster.

The Indians tied the game at 2-2 early in the third. The Hawks regained the lead at 5:03 with a second goal by Swedberg with assistance from Hundt.

Mosinee tied the game 8:23, and the game eventually entered overtime.

Mosinee had five shots on goal and Shawano/Bonduel had four in the first overtime, but none found the back of the net.

Hawks goalie Tyson Lyons ended the night with 37 saves against 40 shots on goal. Indians goalie Charlie Michalski had 18 saves against 22 shots on goal.

Each team was penalized twice for four minutes.
