Four members of Shawano’s soccer team earned Bay Conference first team all-conference honors, while a Wittenberg-Birnamwood girl was named swimmer of the year.
Bay Conference officials recently announced all-conference selections.
Named to the first team for soccer were: Grayson Swedberg, junior forward; Anderson Schmidt, senior midfield; Brayden Mead, junior midfield; and Kody Popelka, senior defense — a unanimous selection.
Schmidt was named the offensive player of the year.
Second team honors were earned by Cooper Boucher, senior defense, and honorable mention was earned by Bryce Lammers, senior midfield.
Swimming
In the swim program, Wittenberg-Birnamwood junior Kelsie Davis was named swimmer of the year.
She also earned first team honors in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke.
Davis earned first team honors as part of a quartet in the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay. She was joined by sophomore Brooklyn Beran, senior Reese Dickman and sophomore Eleanor Tassler on both teams.
Second team awards went to sophomore Rylee Crick in the 100-yard butterfly, Dickman in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke, Tassler in the 500-yard freestyle and Beran in the 100-yard backstroke.
Earning honorable mention awards were Beran in the 200-yard freestyle and Crick in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Shawano junior Jai Bisterfeldt earned honorable mention in the 50-yard freestyle.
She was also part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that won honorable mention. Joining her were junior Kenley Kelliher, sophomore Molly Hanson and senior Tela Hopfensperger.
Cross country
Four Shawano athletes — two boys and two girls — were named to the first team for cross country.
For the boys, it was junior Josiah Kuehl and sophomore Aloysius Frechette. For the girls, it was seniors Bailey Hendricks and Tela Hopfensperger.
Boys on the second team were juniors Quinten Harkey and Teagan Harkey, while freshman Beckett Hendricks was honorable mention.
Girls on the second team were senior Maci Beyer and sophomore Mikelah Powers, with junior Jai Bisterfeldt getting honorable mention.
Volleyball
Senior Natalie Bystol was a unanimous selection for the first team all-conference for volleyball. She was honored as an outside hitter.
Golf
On the golf course, Maddie Moesch was picked for the first team, while Bonduel’s Paige Wolf was named to the second team. Hawks with honorable mention were Gwyn Hermann, Lauren Seehafer and Alyssa Singer.
Football
Shawano junior Austin Heling was a unanimous pick as punter for the first team defense for football.
He was also named to the second team offense as a wide receiver and as a kicker. Sophomore running back Marcus Brezgel was also named to the second team offense, and senior Joey Doperalski was honored as an offensive lineman.
For the second team defense, senior inside linebacker Ayden Bystol was honored.
Honorable mention awards were earned by senior defensive end Chase Katchenago, Brezgel as an outside linebacker and senior defensive back Aiden Rasmussen.
Tennis
Shawano’s Jaelyn Hietpas was named to the second team for singles play on the tennis court.
Named to the second team for doubles play were Lana Owens and Madison Miller.
