Bowler 66, White Lake 52
Bowler’s boys basketball team beat White Lake 66-52 to advance to the WIAA regional semifinals in Division 5.
Bowler, seeded seventh, will travel to Wabeno/Laona, the second seed, on March 6.
Menominee Nation 59, Sturgeon Bay 57
Menominee Nation won its Division 3 regional quarterfinal game 59-57 over Sturgeon Bay.
The seventh-seeded Eagles will travel to No. 2 seed Seymour on March 6 for the regional semifinal game.
Menasha 83, Shawano 60
The Shawano Hawks season came to a close with an 83-60 loss to the Menasha Bluejays in the WIAA regional quarterfinals in Menasha.
The Hawks were seeded ninth, and the Bluejays were the eighth seed in the Division 2 matchup.
“Despite the final score, the Hawks showed determination and grit, battling evenly with Menasha for much of the night,” coach Joel Doxtator said.
Shawano came out ready to compete and matched Menasha point for point in the first half. The two teams went into the locker room tied at halftime, setting up what looked to be a tightly contested finish. The Hawks executed well offensively early on and played with strong energy on both ends of the floor.
In the second half, the game remained within reach as Shawano continued to fight and keep pace. However, with about four minutes remaining, Menasha began to create separation.
A late run by the Bluejays proved to be the difference, as they capitalized on key possessions down the stretch to pull away and secure the victory.
The Hawks were led by Jack Nordin, who delivered 33 points. Anderson Schmidt contributed eight points, providing support on the offensive end. Shawano finishes the season with a 9-16 overall record.
Newman Catholic 75, Gresham 39
The 12th-seed Wildcats bowed out of the playoff picture with a 75-39 loss to No. 5 Newman Catholic in a Division 5 regional game.
Gresham ended the year with a 10-15 overall record.
Providence Academy 70, Lena 43
Lena’s season ended in the Division 5 regional quarterfinal with a 70-43 loss to Providence Academy.
The Wildcats finished 6-19 overall.
Reedsville 90, Gillett 35
Gillett, seeded 16th in its Division 5 regional game against No. 1 seed Reedsville, lost 90-35 to close out its season.
The Tigers were 2-23 overall.
Gibraltar 56, Suring 54
Gibraltar escaped from Suring High School with a 56-54 win over the Eagles in Division 5 regional quarterfinal action.
Suring’s season ended with a 13-10 overall mark.
Three Lakes 81, Marion 52
The No. 14 seed Mustangs finished their season with a 6-18 record following an 81-52 loss to No. 3 seed Three Lakes in the opening round of the WIAA playoffs.
