Toby Francis (Willy Lyn) Warden, 47, of Lakewood, passed away in the hospital surrounded by loving family after a six-month fight for his life Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026.
He was a cherished husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Toby was born in Green Bay to Pamela Warden (Mattick) and John Warden on Aug. 27, 1979. Toby was an adventurous, curious, spirited and resourceful child.
Toby was mostly homeschooled but graduated early from Wabeno High School in 1996 and went to NWTC to pursue his emergency medical technician certification, graduating in 1998. After a few years of working as an EMT, Toby started pursuing his true passion, masonry.
He worked with a few companies building apartments, condos and houses in the Green Bay area before starting his own business in the Northwoods with his wife and kids. Toby had an art for masonry like no one has ever seen; his new business soared while he helped Paul Bunyan Riders with grooming snowmobile trails and Northwoods Powersports with renting out and touring trails with UTVs.
Toby had many passions and hobbies, mostly anything outdoors like fishing, hunting, mudding, skiing, snowmobiling, berry picking and sharing what he made; indoor strategy board game and video game nights; and teaching his family lessons with a “Let me show you something real quick.” Toby enjoyed everything life gave him.
On Sept. 4, 2026, Toby married his life partner, Angel, of 24 years, fulfilling a dream of theirs surrounded by family and friends.
There are many traits that made Toby Warden a very dear person to his family and friends, including his generosity, selflessness, strength, tenacity, dependability, creativity and problem-solving, and he was the best family man. Toby was loved by all, and we hold him dear in our hearts and our spirits.
Toby is survived by his wife, Angel Barber; daughters, Eavin Lewis and Autumn Warden; mother, Pamela Mattick; brother, Jon Warden (Melanie); sister, Jessie Bennett; and their families.
Toby is preceded in death by his father, John Warden; grandparents, Francis and Martha Warden; and grandparents, Jayne and James Gilligan.
Toby will be honored with a celebration of life Oct. 3, 2026, at the place he loved most, his home, located at 17401 North Road, Lakewood, WI, 54138, from noon to 3 p.m.
To honor Toby’s intense devotion to the outdoors and natural resources, we would like to ask for donations to be made to the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin to continue to help protect the nature around us.
We would also like to make a special thanks to the kind, caring and devoted staff of HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, UW Health and Unity Hospice.
