Tigerton 3, Port Edwards 1
Tigerton hosted cross-conference Port Edwards and fought a tough battle, coming back from the first set loss to rally and win the match in four sets.
“The girls adjusted to Port’s offense and played really well defensively in sets 2-4,” coach Holly Meverden said. “They also took advantage of their opponent’s mistakes and turned them into points for the home team. Great effort by the entire team.”
Leading the Tigers were:
Assists: Danika Tiller 23.
Kills: Presley Stewart-Rolfs 18 and Mya Smith 5.
Digs: Jaelyn Brady 13, Tiller and Myah Dent 12 each, and Renata Nordwig 11.
Block kills: Stewart-Rolfs 7, and Nordwig and Tiller 2 each.
Service points and aces: Brady 17 points with 8 aces, Dent 16 points with 4 aces, Smith 15 points with 2 aces, and Nordwig 5 points with 3 aces.
Tigerton is 6-3 overall and 2-2 in CWC-North play.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood 2, Phillips 1
Phillips won the first match 25-23, but the Chargers fought back to win the next two sets 25-22 and 25-10 to earn the 2-1 victory.
Wild Rose 3, Marion 0
The Mustangs dropped three very close games by scores of 25-21, 26-24, 25-19.
Winneconne 3, Shawano 0
The Hawks lost three straight games by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-20.
